Webinar outline:
This webinar presents ideas and resources to promote student engagement in STEM subjects. These include the use of Science 'memes' on the laboratory door, the use of science toys in class to pique student curiosity, and the introduction ofEdmodoandTwitteras novel tools for teaching and learning in the STEM classroom. The webinar also offers participants the chance to share their ideas and 'tricks of the trade' so that everyone can garner something interesting and useful from the session. This may help educators put ideas into practice with their own students.
About the presenter:
Patrick Dundonis the Scientix Deputy Ambassador for Ireland (Cycle II 2014/2015 and Cycle III 2015). He is a Science and Mathematics teacher of Post Primary students (12-18) in Limerick, Ireland. He is also actively involved ineTwinning,Go-LabandTEMI projectsand always interested in finding new ways to capture and promote students' interest in STEM subjects.

In this webinar,Milena Mladenovićpresents her experience using online applications in order to develop cross-curricular lessons in maths, geography and computer science. Those tools are presented and their advantages and disadvantages are explained.

Milena Mladenovicis a Scientix Deputy Ambassador and a class teacher in primary school, as well as a trainer for teachers in two programmes to prevent violence in schools. She is also a webmaster, a designer of a school's website and an online portal of a teachers' community in Zbornica, Slovenia.
