Posredujem sporočilo Ambroža Demšarja, ki bo na vsa morebitna vprašanja, verjamem, z veseljem odgovoril.
Dear NSCs,
we are glad that we have found SAP as a partner for our follow-up activity "Teaching Science in Europe".
Could you please forward our invitation (see below) to teachers in your country?
Thank you very much and best wishes,
Stefanie
Please forward this invitation to teachers in your country:
Dear teachers,
Science on Stage Germany is the European platform for science teachers. At the latest Science on Stage Festival 2011 in Copenhagen we mentioned to organize follow up activities and we invite you to participate! Under the motto 'for teachers by teachers' we will develop innovative teaching materials for ICT that can be used in physics, chemistry and biology and mathematics. At the end the results will be published in English, German and French, see http://www.science-on-stage.de/?p=4_15&l=en
20 teachers from across Europe can take part (September 2011-October 2012).
The project is organised by Science on Stage Germany and sponsored by SAP.
Travel costs and accommodation for the meetings will be covered.
If you are interested in joining the project, please send an e-mail with your name, school, country, subjects and phone number until 15 June 2011 to info@science-on-stage.de. Registrations are handled on a first come, first served basis.
Below you find further information concerning the topic and the schedule.
We are looking forward to hearing from you!
Best wishes,
Stefanie Schlunk

Teaching Science in Europe - developing new teaching materials for ICT (information communication technologies) in natural sciences
Background
"Teaching Science in Europe" is a European exchange process initiated by the non-profit association Science on Stage Deutschland e.V. (SonSD) in 2004. Science on Stage is the European platform for science teachers. The ultimate goal of Science on Stage is to improve science teaching and thus encourage more schoolchildren to consider a career in science, technologies and engineering. By organizing Teaching Science in Europe, SonSD contributes to the European integration in the field of education.
Aims
Teachers from European countries will work together for one year. The aim is to develop innovative teaching materials for ICT that can be used in physics, chemistry and biology and mathematics. At the end the results will be published in English, German and French, so other teachers in Europe can implement the content of the publication in their own classes. A focus of the project is also the exchange between European teachers concerning differences, analogies and difficulties in the process of teaching and learning. Different methods and points of view, especially due to cultural reasons, should be discussed and subsequently employed to solve one's own problems. The language aspect is playing a motivating and qualifying role.
By orienting on the process of the project, participants should be enabled to get their "own" benefit.
Topics ICT
Possible topics are:
Scientific questions which cannot be solved without programming, e.g.
simulation techniques in Physics, Biology and Chemistry. Possible fields are environmental engineering, quantum physics, simulations in classical mechanics and bioinformatics.
Further suggestions from the participants are welcome.
The workshops will result in a publication, starting with a theoretical introduction followed by teaching units.
Time-frame of the project 2011 - 2012
20 June 2011 or 4 July: Meeting coordinators. Aim: determine topics and strategy in Dortmund
23-25 September 2011: First meeting of the participants in Paris. Aim:
concretise the content of the brochure, aims, time frame.
September-December 2011: Participants are working on the topics/content.
17 - 19 or 10 - 12 February 2011: Second meeting in Berlin to discuss the content, to check the aims etc.
May 2012: Finishing the content, the text.
June 2012: Editorial English/French/German.
July 2012: Print and release.
October 2012: Presentation, distribution in France, Germany and Europe, SAP 40th Anniversary
Workshop coordinators
Main coordinator: Dr. Jörg Gutschank, physics teachers, Leibniz Gymnasium Dortmund | International School, head SonSD and two other persons.
